Grant Richardson

Grant has over 25 years experience in a varied career that has encompassed all stages of the project lifecycle from inception to acceptance into use of a completed scheme. He has experience in public and private sectors and has also worked with many forms of procurement including PFIs in sectors as diverse as transport (all modes), petrochemical and property development.

Grant joined initiate Consulting in 2000, bringing with him a firm belief that 90% of the opportunity to enhance value to Clients occurs during definition of the business objectives of a change. His experience is that successful delivery of every project or programme lies in a complete understanding of the key drivers and refining these into specific project deliverables that are clearly understood by the project delivery team during the development phase of the project. Grant understands that this is not always as simple as it sounds as the stakeholders often do not understand project delivery and vice versa; his ability to bridge this gulf is clearly demonstrated by his outstanding record in obtaining endorsement of proposals at Clients’ board level.

As Client Account Director, Grant has single-point responsibility for the selection and overall performance of his team. This is achieved through regular dialogue and feedback from each Client and the individual consultants in the team to capture and address problems or concerns early. Part of this role includes staff development and training that is also dealt with through the regular reviews.
